FAQs

  • How many pads will I need?

You will need 10-12 pads if you plan to wash every second day.

  • Should I choose Bloomer or Nora pads?

It depends entirely on you. We tend to find that first-time users go for Noras because of their stay-dry surface and stain-repellent fabric. Those who love natural fabrics and are less worried about staining fo for bamboo Bloomers.

  • Which size is best for me?

We have five sizes and levels of absorbency. Noras can also be used for bladder leaks.

    • Liner for light flow (Noras only)
    • Mini for light days
    • Midi for medium-flow days
    • Maxi for heavy flows and overnight use
    • Mighty for the heaviest days and nights
  • Can I return them if I don’t like them?

For hygiene reasons, we can only accept returns of unwashed and unused goods.

  • How often should I change them?

Every four to six hours is best.

  • Can I use them overnight?

Yes, you can. Whilst we especially recommend the mighty pad for night-time you can use the smaller pads if you are petite and/or have a light flow.

  • What should I store them in?

Store soiled pads in the Bloom & Nora Bathroom Bag. It has a waterproof interior with a zippered top to keep wetness in and nosey parkers out! Its handy snap on/off strap means you can it hang off the doorknob too.

  • Will they stain?

The secret to preventing staining is to quickly hand-rinse your pads with cold water before you pop them into the Bathroom Bag. Don’t rinse with hot water as it will set stains. Machine wash within 48 hours.

  • Do I need to wash them before I use them?

Yes, it is a good idea to give them a few washes to get them up to full absorbency. You can wash them in with your normal laundry.

  • How do I wash them?

Give them a cold water rinse after use then wash within 48 hours with a non-bio powder. Bio powders and liquids can corrode the bamboo fibres and we don’t want that. Avoid fabric conditioner as it will coat the fabric fibres and reduce their absorbent capacity.

  • Can I wash them with other things?

Yes, definitely. Just treat them like you would your knickers. Same rules apply. White with white and colours with colours, just remember the no fabric softener rule.

  • Can I tumble dry them?

Yes, on a cool setting, but they are fast drying so shouldn’t need to be tumbled. If you do tumble them this can affect the shape.
